Risingbd Desk: At least three Bangladeshis among 49 people were killed in mass shootings at two mosques in New Zealand’s Christchurch on Friday, Bangladesh’s High Commission to Australia confirmed.
Shafiqur Rahman Bhuyian, Honorary Consul General of the embassy confirmed this after the shootings.
The deceased were identified as Dr Samad Azad, a teacher of Bangladesh Agricultural University and Mrs Hosne Ara Farid, a house wife. However, the identity of another one could not be known yet.
Besides, at least five people reportedly received bullet injury in the incident. Identities of the injured Bangladeshis could not be known immediately.
The incident left 49 people killed and scores of others injured as a gunman launched attacks at two mosques during the Jummah prayers.
