Secretariat Correspondent: New State Minister for Aviation and Tourism Ministry Mahbub Ali said Bangabandhu Mega International Airport would be constructed somewhere near Padma multipurpose bridge.
He said this while briefing reporters after holding his first meeting with officials of Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh (CAAB) at its headquarters in the capital on Tuesday.
“Munshiganj was earlier selected as the site for Bangabandhu international airport. But it was not implemented due to the opposition from local residents,” Mahbub said.
“Now the feasibility study has been completed afresh. The site selection for the Bangabandhu international airport is almost completed. I will work for making the new mega airport as aviation hub for both west and east,” the state minister said.
