Fire at Malibagh kitchen market

Senior Correspondent: A fire has broken out at the kitchen market in Dhaka's Malibagh area.

The fire broke out around 5:30 am on Thursday. Later, on information 13 units of the fire service rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after an hour's efforts.

A total of 250 shops were gutted in the fire, traders said.

Malibagh Bazar Bonik Somity working committee member Nurul Haq said, almost all shops were gutted in the market. A total of Tk five crore was lost following the fire.

Fire service deputy director Dilip Kumar Ghosh said, the cause of the fire is still not clear.
