Secretariat Correspondent: The government has appointed AFM Gousal Azam Sarker, as the new ambassador of Bangladesh to Iran.
A press release issued from the foreign ministry confirmed the matter on Tuesday afternoon.
A career diplomat, Azam Sarker belongs to the 1986 batch of BCS (Foreign Affairs) Cadre.
In his diplomatic career besides ambassadorship in Lebanon and Sweden, he served in Bangladesh Embassies in Paris, Kathmandu and Cairo and Bangladesh Consulate General in Hong Kong in various capacities.
Earlier, Iran ambassadorship AKM Mujibur Rahman Bhuyan and Lebanon ambassadorship Abdul Motaleb Sarker were directed to return home on charge of irregularities.
