Science Desk: A total of 16 apps got National Mobile Application Award (NMA) 2017 in eight categories on Thursday.
The awards were handed over to the winners through a programme organized by the ICT Division of Ministry of Post & Telecommunication in Bangladesh in collaboration with World Summit Mobile Award, Google Developer Group (GDG) Bangla and GDG Sonargaon at Krishibid Institute auditorium in the capital.
NMA Award 2017 is an initiative to select and promote the Bangladeshi best in mobile content and innovative applications.
In the programme, State Minister for ICT Division Junaid Ahmed Palak, MP said that there are about 50 lakh mobile applications in the world. And Bangladesh has about 3,000 apps.
"We want to enter into the mobile apps world satisfying local demands. We are working on it, " he added.
All winner from this National Contest will be nominated for World Summit Award 2017 to take part in the WSA-mobile global contest.
